A Sinner's Heart

with every step
a bold thought
and dutch courage
from the wine he bought

walking through
the mocking woods
in the dark
when the moon stood

every stone
and every turn
mapped in mind
real and firm

a mile he walked
still half way through
with lifeless staring
his fears grew

on every dead
leaf he stepped
it cried for life
then back to death

he hid his head
under his hood
comforting him
trying to seclude

at last he reached
his cozy hut
putting off
the smoking bud

he waved his hand
through the cloud
and stepped inside
shouting out loud

"look what i got
for me and you!"
the orphan snatched
the bun and chewed

sniffing the smoke
but uttering none
just gulping down
the lively bun

then he took
some fruits out
then started telling
everything about

how he stole
and who he tricked
almost caught
then how he flicked

the child didn't know
of what he spoke
but in that limited
fruit eloped

the man sipped the wine
then gave him some
so he wouldn't sing
the crying song

putting his small
stomach at rest
he child did fall
unto his bed

silent breath
a dreamless sleep
wiping all
thoughts he'd weep

the man glanced
at the sleeping child
through his red
and teary eyes

mixing memories
with his sight
of the very day
he found light

light that put
his darkness out
of loneliness
and of doubt

the child back then
was half the size
his eyes could switch
even sinners to wise

the man took him
in his arms
from the road
near the farm

when he had been
chased by some
whom he had cheated
all at once

the child was missing
a leg and an eye
he couldn't even run
from the pain and cry

the man took him
and brought him home
gave him a bath
and his hair did comb

the child didn't say
just simply smiled
coz' no one had
ever been so kind

he loved him like
his own son
till the blunt
'today' had come

he again stopped
to hear his breath
the child unknown
to the forthcoming death

he took out the bundle
of the notes well kept
put it next to
the angel bearing bed

he then bent
and kissed his eye
bidding the child
a silent goodbye

he knew his life
had reasons none
but to multiply
all wrong he had done

he wanted to die
to do good to all
he slit his wrist
his eyelids did fall

soon did come
a friend of his
panting and shaking
and watching all this

holding the wretched
letter in hand
of the suicide
the man did plan

what he saw
was both asleep
and one of them
did cold blood weep.

Droplets

like two droplets
running down a leaf
parallel at th edges
but destined to meet

becoming one thought
at the inevitable bend
a smile to add
to thy charmed blend

and the subtle love
like a notorious whore
seduced my eyes
to the damned floor

blunt i was
and wrong i did
my erring thoughts
thy feelings forbid

the 'charmed' blend
now appeared as cursed
like a chaffing bubble
of false that burst

the dumb inept clown
and the me in it
put the mask on
hiding tears that lit

now with those scars
and guilt i live
hoping to see
how friends forgive.

...

the flattering sadness
awaited by most
to be in the light
in a blunt pose

content has shaken
its sources now
in front of the tears
it quietly bows

it sings it shines
with smothered minds
and deftly drinks
the smiling me.

Let us re-invent the gods

from the world
where we follow
everything
that is hollow

every breath
without life
from just the statues
without light

from lifeless idols
mandirs bear
to so called gurus
who don't care

to believe
the delusions
which ends
in seclusions

then the tears
make their way
from the eyes
which went astray

but the belief
is a funny thing
is shaken
by nothing

this is the story
of those asleep
the pride and glory
of those who weep

to believe
is important
but not in thoughts
so impotent

let us rather
re-invent the gods
and break the
blundering chords

re-invent greatness
and this time
no statues
no idols
just shapeless

let the shapeless
show the blinds
a glimpse of
an awakened mind

let mere thoughts
enlighten children
and the beauty thats
filled in

to teach them
no ego
and open
their blinds

to help them
be themselves
and how to go
from mind to no-mind

let not the roots
of the society hold them back
nor the funny delusions
ruin their track

let the sea
kiss them back
and let the tree
share its hat

give them books
just to learn
let it teach
not to earn

guide them well
guide them right
help them admire
the sunlight

give them roots
along with the wings
and then see miracles
that they bring.

The unnoticed one...

the buds turned
into flowers
the seconds ticked
and became hours

the new born saw
the butterflies
then it yawned
at the glowing skies

then he grew
proud and strong
in the world
of the wrong

he still had
a dreamy eye
and still knew
the butterfly

the passion grew
and the thoughts were bold
along with that
the world went cold

with every second
in this world
feelings hid
in fists that curled

and every tear
in the day
took birth with fear
then washed away

was once in time
a cardinal page
in the book of life
now kept away

numbness ruled
the sway of mind
indifference now
made him blind

the ears didnt hear
the poetic words
the sound of waves
or the birds that chirped

the eyes didnt see
the butterflies
the yawning baby
or the glowing skies

now all they hear
and all they see
is a mere forbidden
memory

a cough so loud
then a breath taken
life stifled
and death shaken

the body sleeps
with love drunk eyes
death kisses
with sweetened smiles.

The essence of Me

i blink at the world
as i stand beside 'me'
i look at myself
and i smile at me.

what is it that i want?
what is it that i breathe?
is it the social filth?
or the attention that i seek?

what do i look
forward to when i write
these rhymes and these words
just praises and delight

why do i need
these praises and delight?
to help myself grow
or to see me in the light?

if its the light that i want
then i should rather pretend
to be some one that they love
and i'd do that till the end.

as i touch myself
its all hollow from within
i just do what they tell me
thats what i am living.

if it was to follow since birth
and not to explore
what then my dreams would do
perhaps stuck to the floor?

dreams are too tempting
for my lips to turn into a smile
but its a walk for a thousand
but i'm tired after a mile.

what then i do ?
do i explore or i follow?
i say fuck it
leave it for tomorrow.

what for then i fought?
all these days and these nights?
following was still safe
now even the dreams are out of sight.

afraid of the unknown
i shiver but then i stand
i decide to explore and
i bring the dreams back

every inch i walk
turns into a mile
when all thousand are done
its then my dream meets my smile.

Kissing skies...

my tears drop down,
and curl into words,
my thoughts transform,
and turn into birds.

they fly away,
tearing winds apart,
and follow the light,
leading to the heart.

they fly through it,
not much they find,
an ocean so numb,
and emotions blind.

a fearless horse,
loosing its zest,
sick and tired ,
now taking its rest,

they fly away,
to a darker side,
the light weakens,
and they lose their sight.

they turn around,
but its all the same,
they want to get back,
from where they came.

down they stoop,
then kiss the sky,
the memories haunt,
and make them cry.

they battle it out,
then scuffle again,
they wrestle with it,
then struggle again.

now burnt to death,
along with dreams,
memories still haunt,
in that dull realm.

new ones rise,
from ashes below,
with feathers of wisdom,
and eyes of hope.

in light they flourish,
i the nest of dreams,
visions the relish,
now bolder they seem.
